The New Rochelle Club awards scholarships and/or book awards to deserving youth who have achieved academic success and have given back to their community through school or community based service.
Students are chosen from schools in the New York City and Westchester County each spring. Each student must complete an application and write an essay on a selected current topic. A combination of grade point average, community involvement and essay score are used to award the scholarship/book award. Students are required to provide proof of college acceptance in order to receive their scholartship/book award.
In 2018, after seeing the brillant performances from students at Mind-Builders Creative Arts Centerat our Founders' Day Luncheon, we set aside two scholarship/book awards for Mind-Builders Creative Arts high school students.
Students receiving awards in recent years are attending the following colleges: Berklee College of Music, City College of New York, Hampton University, Howard University, Johns Hopkins University, New York University, Springfield College, St. John's University, SUNY New Paltz and SUNY Purchase.
